Ñandú Way Patagonia was born from more than a decade of work in the wildest corners of Patagonia. We are a team of passionate trackers and guides, led by Vicente Montero, one of the pioneers in getting to know the puma and believing that there is a potential activity, and in starting to build the necessary trust so that these felines do not perceive us as a threat or as prey, but as simple observers. Our work is based on respect, patience and connection with the environment.

We are people deeply passionate about nature and the learning it gives us. We like the cold, the snow and the uncertainty that involves venturing every day in search of a small, insignificant and remote possibility of witnessing something unique, something new, and having an unforgettable photographic or personal opportunity.

Ñandú Way was born from that passion for nature and the exchange that happens when we live it. We became fanatical about the retribution that nature offers us -those sensations, learning and moments that only wildlife can provide- and we made it our mission to transmit that connection to the rest of the world, to raise awareness and value what until recently was a very unknown mammal: the puma.

Our experience has been forged with hundreds of days a year in the field, participating in the world's most important nature productions with the BBC, Netflix, Apple TV and other international projects. Thanks to this trajectory, our images and knowledge have reached tens of millions of people around the globe.

Today, there are many people working around the puma, but our experiences in these large productions have allowed us to develop a deeper reading and interpretation of the behavior of this feline. We understand that the real secret lies in anticipating the puma, in foreseeing its movements, and that can only be achieved with time, knowledge and connection with the environment.

At Ñandú Way, that ability translates into a high level of success thanks to the coordinated work between guide, tracker and technology team - a synergy that allows us to offer authentic, safe and memorable experiences. Our clients, many of them photographers and naturalists from all over the world, trust us to achieve unique encounters, always under an ethical and responsible approach.

We believe that humans are part of the ecosystem and that true greatness lies in observing without intervening. Each outing is an opportunity to experience the essence of the puma and its environment, to feel Patagonia in its purest state, and to share a unique connection with wildlife.

Our philosophy is based on three fundamental principles: silence, respect and distance. They are the axis of all our work and the key to success in the field. We maintain silence so as not to disturb the natural balance; respect to understand that the puma is the protagonist and not us; and distance as a sign of humility in front of its vital space.

At Ñandú Way we treat each puma as a unique individual, with its own history, temperament and territory. Therefore, it is the animal itself who determines the maximum observation distance. We simply read its signals and follow its rhythm, ensuring an ethical, responsible and deeply transforming experience.

Furthermore, we believe it is our duty to give back this knowledge and this new perspective through scientific research. For this reason, Ñandú Way is leading the first genetic study of pumas in the region, a project that seeks to contribute to the understanding and conservation of this emblematic species, strengthening the link between science, responsible tourism and wildlife.
